Packing The Bedrooms

Clothes on Hangers: When packing garments that you would like to hang, the best way is to purchase wardrobe boxes. These boxes have a metal bar that allows you to place your clothes with the hangers inside the box and to receive them wrinkle free. Each box can hold up to 2 feet of hangers (an approximate amount of 35 hangers).

Folded Clothes

Keep in mind to empty all of your dressers, chest of drawers and closets from your folded clothes. If a wardrobe box is not to be used; each garment should be removed from its hanger, folded and than placed in either a medium box (3.0 CuFt) or a linen box (4.5 CuFt). You can also feel free to use suitcases or duffel bags.

If wardrobe boxes are being used for clothes, you can place a few pairs of shoes in the bottom of the wardrobe box. If you still have the original box for the shoes, just pack the shoe boxes into a larger box (4.5 CuFt). If you do not have the original box simply wrap each shoe separately with white paper and than as a pair, place them into a medium box (3.0 CuFt.) or a large box (4.5 CuFt). Make sure to place crumbled paper in between to protect ornaments and/or heels.

Linens and Bedding

Pillows, blankets, sheets, tablecloths, towels and all other soft goods or linens should be placed inside a clean garbage bag and placed inside a linen box (4.5 CuFt). Keep in mind; you can use linens for cushioning other items.

Packing your Children’s Toys

Stuffed or soft toys can be placed in a clean garbage bag and than packed into a large box (4.5 CuFt) or into a wardrobe box (16.0 CuFt). All other toys such as table games should be packed into the original box (if you still have it) and than packed into a large box (4.5 CuFt.).
